Legal & Terms
TERMS OF SERVICE
Last Updated: June 2026
Welcome to Bali Premium Scooter. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before securing your vehicle rental. By booking a scooter through our WhatsApp concierge platform or accessing our services, you formally agree to comply with and be legally bound by the following contractual terms and conditions.
1. RENTAL VEHICLE, CONDITION & EQUIPMENT
All premium scooters in our fleet are meticulously inspected and perfectly prepared by professional mechanics in our own in-house garage prior to handover. The renter acknowledges receiving the vehicle in excellent, roadworthy condition.
Each rental includes up to two complimentary standard passenger helmets and a pre-installed universal smartphone holder. Please note that these free standard helmets are pre-used. For guests who highly prioritize maximum hygiene and personal comfort, we offer an exclusive option to purchase a brand-new, unboxed helmet directly through our catalog during the booking consultation.
2. STRICT IDENTITY VERIFICATION, SCREENING & PROHIBITION OF SUBLEASING
To prevent international fraud, vehicle theft, and unauthorized usage, Bali Premium Scooter enforces an uncompromising identity screening protocol. We reserve the absolute right to refuse service to any individual who fails to meet our verification criteria.
- Verification Requirements: All international renters must present and allow verification of their original physical passport, a valid motorcycle driver's license, and an active International Driving Permit (IDP). For Indonesian citizens or Kitas holders, a rigorous background screening and strict official identity deposit are mandatory.
- Absolute Subleasing Ban: Under no circumstances may the registered renter sublease, rent, loan, or transfer the vehicle keys to any third party (including friends, family members, or fellow travelers). This is an absolute zero-tolerance policy. If an unauthorized individual is found operating the vehicle, the rental agreement will be instantly terminated, the vehicle repossessed without a refund, and the full security deposit forfeited.
3. GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS & VEHICLE DOCUMENT (STNK) SECURITY POLICY
Vehicles rented from Bali Premium Scooter are strictly restricted to the main island of Bali. Transporting our scooters outside of Bali via ferry or any other transport to neighboring islands (including Java, Lombok, Nusa Penida, or Nusa Lembongan) is strictly illegal and treated as vehicle theft.
- Official Document Policy: To safeguard our premium fleet against black-market selling syndicates and illegal off-island smuggling, all rental scooters carry a certified official copy of the vehicle's registration (STNK) rather than the original physical document.
- Renter Responsibility: The renter explicitly acknowledges and accepts this security measure. While local traffic police check-points may occasionally question document copies, this is standard practice for high-tier rental protection. Bali Premium Scooter disclaims all financial or legal liability for minor roadside delays with local authorities resulting from this necessary anti-theft policy.
4. FUEL POLICY
To offer maximum flexibility and eliminate the stress of searching for a fuel station immediately before returning the vehicle, we operate on a partial-to-partial fuel policy. You simply return the scooter with the same amount of petrol it contained at the initial handover.
If you prefer the absolute convenience of starting your island trip with a guaranteed full tank right from the delivery point, you can seamlessly request a pre-fill service during chat booking by covering the actual local fuel costs.
5. ACCIDENT, DAMAGE & MAINTENANCE PROTOCOL
In the event of an accident, vehicle damage, mechanical issues, or a flat tire, the renter must stop riding immediately and notify our WhatsApp support desk. Because we operate our own in-house professional maintenance and custom repair garage, we do not outsource damage assessments to third-party local shops.
This infrastructure strictly guarantees that all necessary repair fees are completely transparent, fair, and free from external inflation. The renter is strictly liable for the full actual cost of parts and labor required to restore the vehicle to its handover condition. Repair costs under our in-house structure remain significantly lower than standard vehicle repair rates in Europe, Australia, or Japan.
6. LATE RETURNS & STRICT OUT-OF-HOURS ENFORCEMENT
Our operational garage closing hours are strict, and our booking calendars are tightly scheduled to guarantee on-time drop-offs for the next arriving guests. Renters must return vehicles within our official business hours.
- Late Return Assessments: Any unauthorized delay exceeding the agreed return time without a confirmed WhatsApp extension at least 3 hours prior will incur a mandatory late fine of IDR 100,000 per hour.
- Midnight / Unannounced Delays: If a renter fails to return the vehicle or remains uncontactable past our closing time (specifically after 11:00 P.M.), the vehicle will be flagged for recovery. The renter will automatically be billed for an additional full rental day, plus a mandatory flat out-of-hours penalty fee of IDR 500,000 to cover extra staff deployment.
7. SMART KEYS, PROPERTY DAMAGE & LOSS-OF-USE PENALTIES
Our premium and luxury tier models (including Yamaha XMAX, Techmax, and Honda ADV) are equipped with high-tech, electronic keyless smart key transponders. Foreign tourists often assume a mechanical backup spare exists, but a lost smart key requires a complete central computer system reset at our garage.
- Lost Smart Key Penalty: Losing an electronic smart key remote requires specialized component replacement. The renter will be billed a flat penalty fee of IDR 1,500,000 to IDR 3,000,000 (depending on the vehicle model tier) to cover technical re-programming, plus the active daily rental rate for every day the vehicle sits idle in our garage (Loss-of-Use revenue).
- Lost Auxiliary Gear: Lost or completely unrecoverable standard passenger helmets will be billed at IDR 250,000 per unit. Damaged or lost standard smartphone holders will be assessed at a flat rate of IDR 200,000.
8. SECURITY DEPOSIT & FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT
A fully refundable security deposit is strictly required at handover to secure the vehicle against structural damages, loss of gear, or traffic violations. The deposit amount varies based on the vehicle tier and model.
We accept cash (major global currencies at current local market rates), credit/debit card processing at handover, or Wise smart transfers. The security deposit will be fully refunded instantly upon safe vehicle collection, provided the scooter is returned on schedule with no new structural or mechanical damage.
9. NO INSURANCE COVERAGE
Bali Premium Scooter does not provide, arrange, or include any form of personal accident insurance, medical coverage, third-party liability insurance, or vehicle damage insurance as part of any rental agreement. All scooters in our fleet are registered and legally operated under Indonesian vehicle regulations; however, the cost and responsibility of obtaining adequate personal insurance coverage rests entirely and solely with the renter.
Prior to arriving in Bali, all renters are strongly advised to secure a comprehensive international travel insurance policy that explicitly includes the following active riders:
- Motorcycle and Scooter Rental Coverage: Confirm that your policy explicitly covers the operation of rented motorcycles or motor scooters abroad. Many standard travel policies exclude motorized two-wheel vehicles by default.
- Medical Evacuation and Emergency Hospitalization: Bali's hospital infrastructure varies significantly in quality and cost. Ensure your policy covers emergency medical transport and hospitalization expenses up to a sufficient international standard.
- Third-Party Liability: Coverage for damages or injuries caused to third parties (other road users, pedestrians, or property) during the rental period.
Bali Premium Scooter expressly disclaims all financial and legal liability for personal injury, hospitalization costs, death, or third-party property damages arising during the rental period where adequate insurance coverage was not secured by the renter prior to vehicle handover.
